There are a plethora of ways to get out of your own way and allow the Universe to take over the route you were meant to be on. Below are resources and prompts if you are feeling lost and need a little redirection.
Shake Your Groove Thing
It's proven that if you allow yourself to let loose through the act of dance, you are more likely to feel creative and free. Listen to the below playlist, or one of your own and allow your mind, body and spirit to become one. Be gentle with yourself and allow your body to move in every-which-way it feels necessary--this is a judgement free zone!
Grounding is such a powerful modality to use when we are feeling disconnected from the world around us. This tool is so relaxing and easy. Simply take your shoes off, along with your socks and walk barefoot on the grass, sand or pavement. Similarly you can get in touch with other parts of nature like leaning on a tree, touching flowers or walking in water. Try this for just 15 minutes a day, or 5, whatever you have time for. Feel every vibration that nature is giving off for you to take from. If you would like to empower this grounding technique even more, you can meditate on an open field of grass and feel your sit bones root and become one with the ground beneath you.
One of my favorite ways of getting out of my head is through writing. I either have a prompt or simply write whatever flows through my fingers. Below are some prompts that I have found have helped me when I am feeling stuck in my emotions:
Look at yourself 1-2 years ago, what is different? What lessons have you learned between then and now?
Where do you want to see yourself in a year from now? What's one step you will take to get there?
Write down "I am" statements (i.e. I am a graphic designer at (insert dream company), I am a strong partner to the one I love, I am a yoga instructor and have earned my RYT 200 certificate)
You can get as detailed as you would like. This is all apart of manifestation, what you put out into the world will come back to you as long as you speak it into the Universe
The word "mediation" can sometimes feel intimidating. We may feel like there is a right or wrong way to meditate, to sit with a blank mind and to surrender to the Universes pull. But that is exactly what is so beautiful about the act of meditation, there is no right or wrong way to do it. Simply sit with your thoughts and allow them to run free. Where does your mind wander, take note of it. Is it in a dark place of the unknown or back to a soul centered place of understanding and ease? These are simple yet important ways to connect to your unconscious mind and to ease any pain that may be piling up. Notice all points of thought that may feel like a pressure point, then when you open you eyes, simply write it down. From here you are taking note of your shadowing thoughts and you are able to work through them, rather than against them.
It's wild that once you realize how much abundance you already have in your life, how the outlook of life can change. When the pandemic shook our world, I honestly felt a little lost. I had a great routine, waking up at 6:00am to go to the gym (half awake), to run home and change, to run to work, and maybe end the day with a happy hour with some friends. There is a constant theme here, I never had the time to slow down or be conscious of what was going on around me or within me. The obvious theme of running changed quickly to the theme of ~slowing down~ & quickly found the best way to do this is to write all that I am grateful for.
Start on the large scale, maybe with the obvious of the roof over your head, going smaller to the nourishing food you put in your body, and going even smaller to the the air you breathe or the conscious mind you have. The beauty of this is it can be as large or small as you make it. However, I find starting the day creating the intention of gratitude changes the trajectory of the day.
